OH MY GOD!!! coming from England and finding Royal
India place was a dream come true, believe me I know Indian food
coming from the "Balti Belt" There are plenty of "Indian"
restaurants in San Diego but please know Royal India is the most
authentic you will possibly get! The portions are superb, the
Executive Chefs and owners, I beleive there names are Sam and Jag,
are without a doubt the most personable and helpful chefs I have
ever encountered! They guided us through the extensive menu with
such flair and grace. They actually seemed to know our tastes and
needs just from speaking to us for no more than 10 mins, I know the
food but my guests had never had Indian food before. To say they
were impressed would be an understatment! FIRST RATE!!!!!!! YOU HAVE
TO EXPERIENCE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!
Royal India managers owners and the whole team put
lot of efforts in making sure you get the best of the best. The
servers are always on top of their game and make sure that your
night is tip top! Great date place for business dinner. a lot
delicious. Royal India had the best tandoori chicken I have ever
tasted.... , I don’t know what is it marinated in but I can tell you
it's delicious. The chutney greenish with lemon juice and green
chillies and tamrind on the other hand bit sweeter..., though
combining both together taste great and the service were all great.
Great place for a business meal, or a date
All I can say about Royal India is WOW... from the
restaurant space- beautiful mosaic arches, waterfall, large
chandelier knowledgeable staff, amazing food at Royal India located
in the Gas lamp area of San Diego at 329 Market Street, San Diego,
CA 92101. First, it's great that the wooden hand carved bar is in
the lounge hall and the main dining rooms are Waterfall room and
Royal room because we were able to walk and not feel under-dressed.
We ordered the small plates-- the pakoras, tandoori shrimp, lobster
korma, chicken basmati pilaf and the paneer Nan. All dishes we chose
were impeccable. The chutneys--tamarind and mint were excellent as
well. To top it off we had mango moose pops that left us
speechless--it was creamy and tasty. Dining at Royal India was a
great experience and has taken Indian cuisine to the next level of
fine dining.
