Great place!, 03-08-2012 By: Reviewer Review: This place is super cool. It's right on University and if you get there early enough you can literally park right out front on the street. It definitely gets crowded (mostly because it's small) later and on weekends, but since they have specials every day of the week, there's always a good time to go there. You load up a card with money, then when you want to taste a wine you just go over to the bottle you want, stick the card in, and voila you get a 1oz pour! Every bottle is mounted upside down is these genius digital dispensers. Each dispenser will tell you how much the taste costs (anywhere from $0.60 to $5 for fine wines). They have whites in chilled dispensers, and even have different olive oils hooked up to dispensers! Check out their website cuz I dont want to write down all the "themes" they have for each day, but it's pretty cool. I like Wednesdays cuz they have a bunch of stuff that's all $3, and Sundays because it's happy hour ALL DAY (woo hoo!), plus they play cool movies and music. It's my kind of Sunday hang out...no need to dress up, no need to impress anyone. Just relax, play a board game, watch a movie, have some wine and some food. But oh, the food! I almost forgot! Their pizza (flatbread) is the bomb! cheese plates as good as they should be. But back to the pizza. Get it. Goat cheese and spinach, or BBQ chicken. I've had, and loved, both. A good combo would be the BBQ chicken flatbread plus the Goat Cheese Boat - warm goat cheese topped with olive oil, pesto and sundried tomatoes. Served with crunchy bread for dipping. Deelish! It's a unique take on the concept of wine tasting, and the appetizers are great. You can go there before the movie/dinner or after. And it is perfect for dress up or down. It's also a comfortable place to hang out with friends. The service is fantastic and there's a wine in every price range. You've just *got* to try it. Try before you buy, 72 tastings from all over the world, wine by the glass at great values, wonderful food, excellent service and a very chic ambiance. Splash does it all. This cozy wine bar in North Park is great for happy hour socializing, group parties, relaxing and even dining. They also have excellent wines at affordable prices to go. I buy my "house" wine there now. I will be a regular!
