I'll be back!, 08-06-2011 By: Reviewer Review: Went here on a Sunday, so it was pretty crowded but if you only have 2 people you're chances of getting seated more quickly are much better. It's an unassuming little place in a small plaza right on Adams Ave. There's parking in the plaza but only about 7 spots, so we parked on the street where there was actually plenty of parking within 50 yards or so. Got seated right away. There's a really cool swing bench outside if you have a party of 4...it's like a picnic bench on swing rollers, and the benches on both sides, along with the table, all smoothly roll back and forth if you're so inclined to make it do so. The people at that table seemed to be enjoying themselves. Inside there's a bar where they were frantically making drinks (they serve not only mimosas, but 4 or 5 different varieties of champagne-based drinks). There's a projector screen showing beautiful images from around the world...most were landmarks or historic locations that I'd love to visit. The captions of each picture told you what/where it was. Service was friendly and quick. I got a rasmimosa (fresh raspberries pureed into champagne. Very good). They were serving both breakfast and lunch from the menu at around 2pm when we went. The place was packed. I can only imagine how crowded it was at 11am! I got the montecristo classic sandwich. They actually have 3 varieties of Montecristos, and I'm a sucker for them. It wasnt completely deep friend...more shallow pan friend on both sides it seemed....which I actually liked better. Less batter and bloating. And very tasty! My lunch companion got the pesto shrimp sandwich, which I thought sounded kind of gross but I dont like shrimp. I tried a bite with no shrimp in it and I must admit the sandwich itself was delicious. I had a side of potato pancakes which were also really good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The owner came over twice during our time there to ask how things were...once while we were eating and once as we paid the check. I really like when places do that. There were about 15 other things on the menu that I wanted to try so I'm sad that I didn't get to just yet, but that's why I'll be back Date of visit: 07/31/2011 Reviewer Name: Adam Jakowenko Food: Excellent Service: Good Value: Good Ambiance: Good Overall Experience: Very Good |
