Nice brunch spot, 08-06-2011 By: BauerR69 Review: I must admit, I wouldn't have chosen this place for a brunch outing, but upon the recommendation of a friend, we went today for Sunday brunch. When I walked inside around 12pm, there was nobody in the place...then a nice woman greeted me and asked me if I was meeting anyone there. I said yes and she walked me to a back patio, which I didn't even know existed...that's where everyone was! About 30 people all enjoying a nice San Diego summer day on a hidden Jayne's back patio. Service was prompt, and although I only got an OJ, my companions all got Bloody Mary's, of which they each had multiple servings. My OJ was fresh squeezed and full of pulp, but that was ok since fresh is better than concentrate any day of the week. Ordered the Brioche French Toast with creme and berries. Very tasty...I love french toast made from brioche bread...so light and flavorful. Topped with real maple syrup and accompanied by some extra crispy bacon (see the pictures), I didn't hesitate to eat the whole plate. I'm told from my friends that their Pork Chop and Full English breakfasts were all very good. No complaints about the atmosphere, service, or food. 4 stars for an overall very nice place to grab brunch if you're in the area and don't want to wait an hour at the Antique Road Cafe across the street.
