Yummy Curry, 12-14-2010 By: Reviewer Review: First of all, I just had an expensive dinner at Bombay Exotic Cuisine of India located in Hillcrest and rated the best Indian food in San Diego 2009. I paid 100 dollars for two people that included an appetizer, two main dishes and a mango lassi. In Bombay Coast I paid 15 dollars for a combination of chicken tikka, saag paneer and chicken vindaloo and a mango lasse. This combo included a small salad, rice and plain naan. This is enough food to feed two people. It was great! I loved the flavors and the mango lasse was three times bigger and less sweet that the little cup you get at Bombay in Hillcrest for triple the price. The mint sauce was so refreshing and delicious with chicken tikka. Besides Bombay Exotic Cuisine, I have eaten in Indian Palace in Hillcrest, World Curry in PB and I think Bombay Coast is quite competitive for a great price. Maybe it's better just to go for a combo rather than a regular dish. I can't wait to go back! They are hands down the best deal on Indian food in all of San Diego. They have really great quality ingredients, many of which are organic (I asked), and the portions are quite large considering how small portions usually are in an indian food restaurant. The combo specials are usually around $7, that is about a dollar or so more than a combo meal at mcdonalds!
